mash: childhood hero Fozzie Bear / reggae music
We just introduced Baby Mash to The Muppets. And since Mr. Mashed Up is huge into music (he loves last month’s Mash Up of James Brown, Michael Jackson, and Prince), and the family has a Caribbean background, Baby Mash has to learn to love some Bob Marley. When we found this video, it was the perfect pairing. Bob Marley and Muppets.
Fozzie Bear started his life as a Muppet around 1976. That was before my time. However, when I was a kid, he was my favorite. Forget Kermit, the pig, and Animal–that bear could make me laugh. Oh course, as time went on I learned to love the others, too. But Fozzie will always have a special place in my heart.
And Bob Marley: what can I say? His music is powerful, meaningful, and peaceful. It’s hard to find music that is both contemporary, and that will be enjoined by Baby Mash, Mr. Mashed Up, and myself. We’re an eclectic group. And Bob Marley satisfies all of us.
So here’s to Fozzie Bear and Bob Marley–two men in my life from childhood on.
